Highly unique and dramatic, my new edge lit base allows etched glass to "come alive". By lighting the edge of glass, etched portions are illuminated while the background is not. The examples show two pieces of ultra-clear glass - the front piece is the etched wedding invitation, the back piece is uniformally etched and reflectorized, and the color transparency is sandwiched in between. The base is hand crafted to order, can be various dimensions and finishes, and features a T1, low voltage fluorescent tube. The diameter of the tube is less than 1/2 that of a pencil, and allows for a base thickness of only 1", runs cool and bright, has an approx. 30,000 hour life, and is replaceable.
